No-Bake Chocolate Oat Bars


No-Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Preparation:

How to Prepare No-Bake Chocolate Oat Bars:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a 9×9-inch square pan and set it aside.
  2. Cook the Oat Mixture: In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add the oats, stirring until fully combined. Continue to cook the mixture on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Once done, firmly press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Set aside the remaining oat mixture for later use.
  3. Make the Chocolate Layer: In a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the peanut butter and chocolate chips together over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Pour the chocolate mixture over the pressed oat layer in the pan, spreading it evenly with a knife or the back of a spoon.
  4. Assemble the Bars: Gently press the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate layer, ensuring it covers the surface evenly. Cover the pan and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or preferably overnight, until set.
  5. Serve: Before slicing into bars, allow the mixture to come to room temperature and cool slightly. Cut into bars and enjoy.
