Garlic Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust according to family size)
  • 6-8 garlic cloves, minced (adjust according to personal taste)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Olive oil (three drizzles)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Salt
  • Herbs (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Pasta: Cook the spaghetti noodles in boiling water until tender. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water for later use. For added flavor, include a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and some fresh herbs in the boiling water. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta is boiling, wash the shrimp thoroughly.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Melt the butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook the shrimp until they begin to turn pink and start to curl, then add the minced garlic.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Continue cooking the shrimp and garlic for 5-7 minutes, then add the olive oil. Stir constantly until the shrimp are fully pink and curled.
  5. Mix with Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Incorporate the seasonings, including Italian seasoning, fresh ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and any additional herbs and salt to taste. Gradually add the reserved pasta water to the skillet, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as needed to ensure the pasta is coated but not swimming in liquid.
  6. Final Touch: Toss all the ingredients in the skillet until they are well incorporated and heated through. Serve hot.
