Cinnamon French Toast Bubble Up Recipe

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 tbsp White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup Skim Milk
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 5 Large Eggs

For the Glaze:

  • ½ tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ⅓ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Skim Milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking pan by spraying it with nonstick baking spray to ensure easy removal of the dish later.
  2. Biscuit Preparation: Cut each buttermilk biscuit into fourths and set aside. In a small bowl, mix together the white sugar and cinnamon until well combined. Transfer this mixture into a large Ziploc bag.
  3. Coat the Biscuits: Place the cut biscuit pieces into the Ziploc bag with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Seal the bag and shake it well until all the biscuit pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Arrange the coated biscuit pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish. In a separate bowl, whisk together the skim milk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and eggs until the mixture is smooth. Pour this egg mixture over the biscuit pieces in the baking dish, ensuring they are well-covered.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the biscuits are fully cooked.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: While the dish is baking, prepare the glaze by combining the powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of skim milk in a bowl. Use an electric mixer to beat the ingredients until the glaze is smooth and lump-free.
  7. Serve: Once the Cinnamon French Toast Bubble Up is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Drizzle the prepared glaze evenly over the top just before serving.
  8. Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy this delightful breakfast treat!
