Cabbage and Minced Meat

Ingredients:

  • 1 small cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon broth seasoning powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Cook the Ground Beef:

    Heat a large pan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and use a wooden spoon to break it apart, cooking until browned.

  2. Sauté Onions and Garlic:

    In a separate pan, heat a little oil and sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. Combine Ingredients:

    Add the browned ground beef to the pan with onions and garlic. Stir to combine.

  4. Add Tomatoes and Spices:

    Pour in the chopped tomatoes along with their liquid. Add the broth seasoning powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and salt. Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil.

  5. Simmer:

    Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

  6. Incorporate Cabbage:

    Add the chopped cabbage to the pan and stir to combine with the beef and tomato mixture. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 10-15 minutes.
