Slow Cooker Beef Brisket Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Beef bouillon cube
- 4-5 lbs. Beef brisket (fat trimmed)
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- 1 cup Water
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
For the rub:
- 1 tsp. Cumin
- 2 Tbsp. Brown sugar
- 1 tsp. Ground mustard
- 2 Tbsp. Paprika
- 1 tsp. Black pepper
- 2 tsp. Onion powder
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 2 tsp. Garlic powder
- ½ tsp. Cinnamon
Instructions:
- Prepare the Rub:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together all the rub ingredients (cumin, brown sugar, ground mustard, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, salt, garlic powder, and cinnamon).
- Press the rub mixture firmly over all sides of the beef brisket to ensure it is well coated.
- Roast the Brisket:
- Place the seasoned brisket on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, allowing the brisket to develop a flavorful crust.
- Slow Cooking:
- While the brisket is roasting, prepare the slow cooker. In a bowl, whisk together the beef bouillon cube, water, BBQ sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Remove the brisket from the oven and place it in the slow cooker.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
- Cook:
- Cover the slow cooker and cook the brisket on low for 8-10 hours, ensuring it becomes tender and juicy. Turn the meat halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
- Finishing Touches:
- Once fully cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
- Brush the shredded beef with additional BBQ sauce to enhance the flavor.
- Optional: Broil the shredded brisket in the oven for a few minutes to caramelize the BBQ sauce, adding a smoky finish.
