Strawberry Cake with Frosting

A delicious treat for Super Bowl Sunday! This cake is moist, flavorful, and will make your kitchen smell like a bakery.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 (3-ounce) package strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen strawberries, thawed

For the Frosting:

  • 1 (1 lb) package powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup butter, softened
  • Remaining strawberries from the package

Directions

Preparing the Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 12×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, Jell-O, and eggs.
  3. Add oil, water, and half of the thawed strawberries. Mix well.
  4. Beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

Making the Frosting:

  1. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, softened butter, and remaining strawberries until smooth.
  2. Spread evenly over the cooled cake.
