Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 8–10 mini bars or 4 large bars)
- 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together peanut butter and softened butter until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until a thick dough forms.
- Stir in the crushed Butterfinger pieces until evenly distributed.
- Roll the mixture into small bite-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the balls for about 20–30 minutes, or until firm.
- Melt the chocolate chips (and shortening if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely.
- Place the coated balls back on parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set.
- Once firm, transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
Description
These Butterfinger Balls are creamy, crunchy, and chocolatey with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The peanut butter base pairs perfectly with the caramelized crunch of Butterfinger pieces, all wrapped in a smooth chocolate shell. They’re the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy in every bite.
Tips
- Crush the Butterfingers by placing them in a zip-top bag and rolling with a rolling pin.
- Use a fork or toothpick to make dipping in chocolate easier.
- Add a drizzle of white chocolate on top for a pretty finish.
- Keep them chilled until serving for the best texture.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle crushed Butterfinger bits on top of the chocolate coating before it hardens.
Correction
- If the mixture feels too sticky when rolling, add a little more powdered sugar.
- If the chocolate is too thick for dipping, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil or shortening to thin it out.
- If the balls soften too much before dipping, pop them back into the freezer for a few minutes.
