Spicy Garlic Butter Shrimp

Spicy Garlic Butter Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:

    Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. Season the Shrimp:

    In a bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the shrimp in the spice mixture until evenly coated.

  3. Cook the Shrimp:

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.

    Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.

    Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley, mixing well.

  5. Combine and Serve:

    Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the garlic butter sauce.

    Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
