Crocant Homemade Bread

Ingredients:

  • 400 ml of warm milk
  • 12 g yeast (1 heaping tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 30 g melted butter
  • 600 g wheat flour
  • 8 g salt (1 teaspoon)
  • 15 g all-purpose flour

Preparation:

  1. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a container, mix the warm milk, yeast, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the yeast is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
  2. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Add the wheat flour and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until the ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Knead the Dough: Knead the mixture until you achieve a soft and smooth dough.
  4. Divide and Rest: Divide the dough into two equal parts. Then, divide each part into six smaller pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Make small cuts in the center of each dough ball. Brush them with egg yolk and add a small amount of butter if desired.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Bake the dough for 25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
