Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs

Introduction

Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs are the ultimate comfort food—tender, flavorful, and practically falling off the bone.
With minimal prep and a long, gentle cook, this recipe transforms simple ribs into a rich, saucy meal that
tastes like it’s been slow-smoked all day. Perfect for busy days, family dinners, or whenever you’re craving
hearty, home-style barbecue without firing up the grill.

Ingredients

  • 2–3 pounds pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it is still attached.
  2. Cut the ribs into sections that fit easily into your slow cooker.
  3. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the seasoning evenly over the ribs.
  4. Place the ribs into the slow cooker, standing them upright or layering as needed.
  5. In another bowl, mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour the mixture over the ribs.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until tender.
  7. Optional: For a caramelized finish, place ribs on a baking sheet, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes.

Description

These Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs are juicy, tender, and coated in rich barbecue sauce. The slow cooking process allows
the flavors to fully soak into the meat, creating ribs that are soft, savory, and irresistibly delicious with
every bite.

Tips

  • Baby back ribs cook faster and are leaner; spare ribs are meatier and richer.
  • Use slow cooker liners or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Let seasoned ribs rest for 30 minutes before cooking for deeper flavor.
  • Pair with coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans for a complete meal.

Correction

  • If the sauce is too thin, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes to thicken.
  • If ribs seem dry, add extra BBQ sauce or a splash of broth.
  • Avoid cooking too long on HIGH, as the meat may fall apart excessively.

Enjoy

Serve these Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs hot and saucy, straight from the cooker or lightly broiled for extra texture.
Grab some napkins and enjoy a comforting, finger-licking meal that everyone will love.
