Introduction

Cheesy Cheddar Bay Chicken Cobbler is the ultimate comfort dish—warm, creamy, and packed with savory flavors.
Inspired by the famous Cheddar Bay biscuits, this cobbler layers tender chicken in a rich sauce and tops it
with a fluffy, cheesy biscuit crust that bakes up golden and irresistible. It’s perfect for busy weeknights,
family dinners, or anytime you want something hearty and satisfying with minimal effort.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Base

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Biscuit Topping

  • 1 cup Cheddar Bay–style biscuit mix
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional Topping

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Spread the cooked chicken evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt,
and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken layer.
  5. In another bowl, mix the biscuit mix, milk, and shredded cheddar until just combined.
  6. Spoon the biscuit batter evenly over the chicken mixture. Do not stir.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. If using the optional topping, mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley, then brush
over the hot cobbler before serving.

Description

This Cheesy Cheddar Bay Chicken Cobbler is creamy on the bottom and fluffy on top, with rich chicken
flavor and bursts of sharp cheddar in every bite. The biscuit topping absorbs just enough sauce to
stay moist underneath while remaining crisp and golden on top, creating a perfect balance of textures.

Tips

  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time and add extra flavor.
  • Sharp cheddar cheese works best for a bold, cheesy taste.
  • Avoid overmixing the biscuit batter to keep the topping light and fluffy.
  • Let the cobbler rest for 5–10 minutes after baking to help it set before serving.

Correction

  • If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil and continue baking.
  • If the center seems undercooked, bake for an additional 5–10 minutes until the biscuit topping is fully set.
  • If the cobbler is too thick, add a splash of milk to the sauce next time for a creamier texture.

Enjoy

Serve this Cheesy Cheddar Bay Chicken Cobbler hot, straight from the oven, with a simple side salad
or steamed vegetables. It’s comfort food at its finest—warm, cheesy, and guaranteed to bring smiles
to the table.
