Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Introduction

Poached eggs are a breakfast classic, known for their soft, runny yolks and tender whites.
Traditionally, they’re made in simmering water, but with an air fryer, you can achieve the same results in a quicker, fuss-free way.
Air fryer poached eggs are perfect for busy mornings, offering a healthy and delicious option that pairs well with toast, avocado, or salads.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup water (per ramekin)
  • Cooking spray or butter (to grease ramekins)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly grease small ramekins or heat-safe cups with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Pour about ½ cup of water into each ramekin.
  4. Gently crack an egg into each ramekin, being careful not to break the yolk.
  5. Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket. Cook for 6–8 minutes, depending on desired yolk runniness.
  6. Check doneness: whites should be set while yolks remain soft.
  7. Carefully remove ramekins with tongs, then lift eggs out with a slotted spoon.
  8. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.

Description

Air fryer poached eggs are silky, tender, and perfectly cooked every time.
This method eliminates the guesswork of stovetop poaching while keeping the eggs healthy and oil-free.
Whether you enjoy them with toast, over greens, or as part of an eggs benedict, these eggs are quick, convenient, and delicious.

Tips

  • For softer yolks: Cook closer to 6 minutes.
  • For firmer yolks: Cook up to 9 minutes.
  • Use room-temperature eggs for even cooking.
  • Always grease ramekins lightly to prevent sticking.
  • Add flavor with herbs, paprika, or chili flakes after cooking.

Correction

If your poached eggs turn out too firm, reduce the cooking time by 1–2 minutes.
If they’re too runny, increase the cooking time by 1 minute.
Timing may vary depending on your air fryer model and ramekin size.

Enjoy

Serve your air fryer poached eggs on top of buttered toast, avocado slices, sautéed spinach,
or as a protein boost for grain bowls. They’re a versatile, quick, and healthy addition to any meal of the day.
