BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Recipe


BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon or spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the bacon slices on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake for 7-8 minutes, until the bacon is partially cooked but still flexible. Remove from the oven and place on paper towels to drain and cool slightly.
  3. When the bacon is cool enough to handle, cut each strip in half. Wrap a half-piece of bacon around each shrimp, with the seam side down on a clean baking sheet.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  5. Bake the shrimp for 7-8 minutes, then remove from the oven and brush generously with the BBQ glaze.
  6. Return the shrimp to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Turn on the broiler. Brush the shrimp with the glaze again, then broil for 3-4 minutes until the glaze is caramelized.
  8. Serve the BBQ bacon-wrapped shrimp immediately and enjoy!

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle smoked paprika or cayenne pepper on the shrimp before wrapping with bacon.
  • To add a smoky taste, consider grilling the shrimp on a BBQ grill instead of broiling.
