BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp
BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp
Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined
- 1 pound thick-cut bacon
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon or spicy brown mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the bacon slices on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake for 7-8 minutes, until the bacon is partially cooked but still flexible. Remove from the oven and place on paper towels to drain and cool slightly.
- When the bacon is cool enough to handle, cut each strip in half. Wrap a half-piece of bacon around each shrimp, with the seam side down on a clean baking sheet.
- In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
- Bake the shrimp for 7-8 minutes, then remove from the oven and brush generously with the BBQ glaze.
- Return the shrimp to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
- Turn on the broiler. Brush the shrimp with the glaze again, then broil for 3-4 minutes until the glaze is caramelized.
- Serve the BBQ bacon-wrapped shrimp immediately and enjoy!
Tips:
- For extra flavor, sprinkle smoked paprika or cayenne pepper on the shrimp before wrapping with bacon.
- To add a smoky taste, consider grilling the shrimp on a BBQ grill instead of broiling.
