  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients, ensuring that your butter is softened and your eggs are at room temperature.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
