Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Potatoes (peeled, thinly sliced) 1.5 kg (about 3 lbs)
Heavy cream 1 cup
Milk 1 cup
All-purpose flour 2 tablespoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon
Onion powder 1/2 teaspoon
Paprika 1/4 teaspoon
Shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup
Grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup
Unsalted butter (cubed) 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with butter or a non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Make the Creamy Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Place a layer of sliced potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker.
    • Pour a portion of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
    • Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the layer.
    • Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  4. Add Butter and Paprika: Dot the top with butter cubes and sprinkle with paprika for color and flavor.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Let It Rest: Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving so the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
Serving Tip: These scalloped potatoes pair wonderfully with roasted meats, fresh vegetables, or as a standalone comfort dish with a simple salad.
