Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 3.4 oz. vanilla pudding mix
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 5 large eggs, at room temperature
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup sweet white wine (Riesling recommended)

For the Glaze

  • ½ cup salted butter
  • ¼ cup sweet white wine
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan with nonstick baking spray and set it aside.
  2. Mix the Batter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, sour cream, and sweet white wine. Beat the mixture until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean and the edges have pulled away from the pan.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan, heat the butter, sweet white wine, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved, then remove the saucepan from the heat.
  5. Glaze the Cake: While the cake is still in the pan, use a bamboo skewer or toothpick to poke holes all over the bottom. Slowly pour the glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. This process should take about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve: Once the glaze has been absorbed, carefully loosen the sides of the cake from the pan with a spatula. Turn the cake out onto a serving plate. Slice and enjoy!
