Crispy Chicken Tenders with Tartar Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Tenders:

  • 1 kg chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1-2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 chicken broth cube, crushed
  • 1 egg
  • 3-4 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Tartar Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp pickle relish
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, cornstarch, flour, 1 tsp salt, ground black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and crushed chicken broth cube.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Place the panko breadcrumbs in another bowl and mix with dried parsley and 1/2 tsp salt.
  5. Dip each chicken strip into the milk mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Arrange the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is crispy and golden brown.
  8. While the chicken is baking, prepare the tartar sauce by combining mayonnaise, lemon juice, sugar, chopped parsley, pickle relish, a pinch of salt, and ground black pepper in a small bowl. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.
  9. Serve the crispy chicken tenders with the tartar sauce on the side.
