Crocant Homemade Bread
Ingredients:
- 400 ml of warm milk
- 12 g yeast (1 heaping tablespoon)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 30 g melted butter
- 600 g wheat flour
- 8 g salt (1 teaspoon)
- 15 g all-purpose flour
Preparation:
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a container, mix the warm milk, yeast, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the yeast is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Add the wheat flour and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the mixture until you achieve a soft and smooth dough.
- Divide and Rest: Divide the dough into two equal parts. Then, divide each part into six smaller pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Prepare for Baking: Make small cuts in the center of each dough ball. Brush them with egg yolk and add a small amount of butter if desired.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Bake the dough for 25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
