Effortless Coconut and Sweetened Milk Dessert: Ready in Just 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 can (400 ml) coconut milk
- 1 cup whole milk (or your preferred type of milk)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Toasted coconut flakes for garnish
Preparation:
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized saucepan, whisk together the coconut milk, whole milk, sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Ensure the cornstarch is fully dissolved for a smooth consistency.
- Cook: Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and starts to boil, approximately 5 to 8 minutes. Once it reaches a boil, continue to stir and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes to achieve the desired thickness.
- Add Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract, ensuring it’s well incorporated.
- Cool: Pour the pudding into individual serving bowls or a large dish. Allow it to cool to room temperature. Cover the pudding with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully chilled.
- Serve: Once the pudding has chilled, serve it topped with toasted coconut flakes for an added layer of flavor and texture.
