Introduction

Garbage Bread is one of those incredibly fun, no-rules recipes where creativity shines.
Despite its name, this dish is anything but trash—it’s a golden, baked bread loaf stuffed
with meats, cheese, veggies, and sauces. Perfect for parties, game days, or quick family
dinners, Garbage Bread is a delicious way to clean out your fridge while making something
everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf pizza dough or refrigerated bread dough
  • 1 cup cooked meats (sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, ham, or bacon)
  • 1 to 1½ cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, provolone, or a mix)
  • ½ cup cooked vegetables (onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, spinach, etc.)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, grated Parmesan, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough if using.
  4. Evenly layer the cooked meats, vegetables, and shredded cheese over the dough.
  5. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Carefully roll the dough into a tight loaf and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  7. Brush the top with olive oil or melted butter and add optional toppings.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Description

Garbage Bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with rich,
savory flavors in every slice. Each bite can be different depending on the fillings,
making it a satisfying and exciting dish every time you prepare it.

Tips

  • Always cook meats and vegetables before adding them to the dough.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent the bread from bursting open.
  • Serve with marinara, ranch, or garlic sauce for extra flavor.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for best texture.

Correction

  • If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  • If the bottom turns soggy, bake the loaf on a wire rack for the last few minutes.
  • If dough tears while rolling, simply pinch it closed—this bread is forgiving.

Enjoy

Slice, dip, and enjoy this hearty, cheesy, satisfying Garbage Bread.
It’s messy, fun, and guaranteed to be a hit at any table!
