Garlic Shrimp Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
- 1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust based on family size)
- 6-8 garlic cloves, minced (according to personal taste)
- 1/4 cup butter
- Olive oil (3 drizzles)
- Italian seasoning
- Fresh ground pepper
- Red pepper flakes
- Salt
- Fresh herbs (to taste)
Instructions:
- Boil Pasta:
- Cook the spaghetti noodles in a pot of boiling water until tender.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and fresh herbs to the boiling water for added flavor.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta water for later use.
- Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Prepare Shrimp:
- While the pasta is boiling, wash the shrimp thoroughly.
- Cook Shrimp:
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook until they start to turn pink and curl slightly.
- Add Garlic:
- Once the shrimp are partially cooked, add the minced garlic to the skillet.
- Continue cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes, then drizzle in the olive oil.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Stir the shrimp and garlic mixture until the shrimp are fully cooked, pink, and curled.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet.
- Season with Italian seasoning, fresh ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
- Gradually add the reserved pasta water, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as needed, until the pasta is moist but not swimming in liquid.
- Finish and Serve:
- Continuously toss the pasta and shrimp mixture in the skillet until all ingredients are well combined and heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
