Garlic Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust based on family size)
  • 6-8 garlic cloves, minced (according to personal taste)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Olive oil (3 drizzles)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Salt
  • Fresh herbs (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Boil Pasta:
    • Cook the spaghetti noodles in a pot of boiling water until tender.
    • Add a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and fresh herbs to the boiling water for added flavor.
    • Reserve 1 cup of pasta water for later use.
    • Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Prepare Shrimp:
    • While the pasta is boiling, wash the shrimp thoroughly.
  3. Cook Shrimp:
    • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the shrimp and cook until they start to turn pink and curl slightly.
  4. Add Garlic:
    • Once the shrimp are partially cooked, add the minced garlic to the skillet.
    • Continue cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes, then drizzle in the olive oil.
  5. Combine Ingredients:
    • Stir the shrimp and garlic mixture until the shrimp are fully cooked, pink, and curled.
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet.
    • Season with Italian seasoning, fresh ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
    • Gradually add the reserved pasta water, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as needed, until the pasta is moist but not swimming in liquid.
  6. Finish and Serve:
    • Continuously toss the pasta and shrimp mixture in the skillet until all ingredients are well combined and heated through.
    • Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
