Homemade Beef Lo Mein
Ingredients:
- Chuck roast
- Broccoli crowns
- Carrots (thinly sliced)
- Oil
- 2-3 tbsp Corn starch
- Fresh Lo Mein noodles (found in the refrigerated section at local Asian stores; spaghetti noodles can be used as a substitute, cooked according to package instructions)
- 2 tsp Sesame oil
- 2 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp Ginger (minced)
- 3 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp Sweet soy sauce
Directions:
- Thinly slice the beef into strips and mix well in a bowl with corn starch. Set aside.
- Prepare your vegetables by cutting them and having them ready for cooking.
- In a bowl, mix oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Heat a pan on medium-high heat until it starts to smoke slightly. Add a couple of tablespoons of oil and cook the beef for about 3-5 minutes until seared. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- Add two more tablespoons of oil to the pan, followed by the garlic, ginger, and all the vegetables. Stir-fry on medium heat until tender.
- Return the noodles and beef to the pan, mixing well from the bottom up for about a minute. Cover the pan for a couple of minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Add the sauce mixture to the pan, stir well, and stir-fry for another minute.
- Plate your Beef Lo Mein and enjoy!
