Italian Chicken Pasta Recipe
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 5 boneless, skinless chicken breast cutlets
- 12 oz. spaghetti noodles
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 2 Tbsp. oil
For the Sauce:
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 small tomatoes, diced
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Begin by cooking the spaghetti according to your preference. Drain and set it aside.
- Prepare the Chicken: In a large Ziploc bag, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Add the chicken cutlets to the bag and shake until the chicken is well-coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the seasoned chicken in the skillet and sauté until it is browned on both sides and cooked through. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, sauté the chopped onions until they soften. Then, add the minced garlic and diced tomatoes, cooking for another 30 seconds.
- Thicken the Sauce: Sprinkle the flour into the skillet and stir until well combined. Add the red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning, then slowly whisk in the heavy whipping cream. Continue stirring as the sauce thickens.
- Finish the Dish: Stir the grated Parmesan cheese into the sauce. Once it’s fully melted and combined, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, mixing well to coat the pasta in the sauce.
- Serve: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, mixing it with the pasta and sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Italian Chicken Pasta!
