Philly Cheesesteak Bake

Introduction

Philly Cheesesteak Bake takes everything you love about a classic cheesesteak —
tender beef, melty cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions — and transforms it into
a warm, hearty casserole. It’s bold, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Bake

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough
  • 6–8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone
  • Optional: sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the steak until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions, peppers, and garlic until tender, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Add steak back into the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Grease a baking dish and press crescent roll dough into the bottom to form a crust.
  6. Layer provolone slices on top of the dough.
  7. Spoon the steak-and-pepper mixture evenly over the cheese.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  9. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Description

This Philly Cheesesteak Bake captures the iconic flavors of the classic sandwich in a
satisfying casserole. The buttery crust, tender steak, sweet peppers, and melty provolone
come together to create a dish that’s comforting and crave-worthy.

Tips

  • Use thin-sliced ribeye for the most authentic flavor.
  • Pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes if you want a crispier crust.
  • Add mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • Cover with foil if the cheese browns too fast.
  • Add a splash of broth if the filling seems dry.

Correction

  • If the bake turns out soggy, pre-bake the crust for 5–7 minutes.
  • If it’s dry, add 2–3 tablespoons of broth to the filling before baking.
  • If the cheese browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil.

Enjoy

Slice into your warm, cheesy Philly Cheesesteak Bake and enjoy a hearty,
comforting meal full of classic flavors!
