Ingredients
- 3 cups Corn Chex
- 3 cups Rice Chex
- 2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios (optional)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 16 ounces Christmas M&Ms
- 2 cups mini peanut butter cups
- 4 cups pretzels (sticks or twists)
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: Combine the Corn Chex, Rice Chex, and Honey Nut Cheerios (if using) in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Melt the Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. If the mixture hasn’t fully melted, microwave for an additional 30 seconds and stir until smooth.
- Coat the Cereal: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal. Stir gently but thoroughly to ensure all the cereal pieces are evenly coated. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to cool slightly.
- Powder the Cereal: In a gallon-sized ziplock bag, combine the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add the chocolate-coated cereal to the bag, seal it tightly, and shake until all the cereal pieces are well-coated with the sugar mixture.
- Cool the Mix: Spread the coated cereal on a baking sheet to cool completely.
- Combine the Final Ingredients: In a large serving bowl, mix the cooled cereal with the Christmas M&Ms, mini peanut butter cups, and pretzels. Stir gently to combine without breaking the cereal pieces.
