You don’t need fancy ingredients to create a crowd-pleasing appetizer. This recipe is proof!
Ingredients:
- 2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/2 pound of deli sliced roast beef
- 1 cup of grated Swiss cheese
- 1 packet of dry onion soup mix
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 cup of beef broth for dipping
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.
- Base Layer: Roll out one can of crescent rolls into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching together any seams to form a solid layer.
- Add Roast Beef and Cheese: Layer the roast beef over the crescent roll dough, followed by an even sprinkling of Swiss cheese.
- Prepare and Add the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the dry onion soup mix, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Drizzle this mixture over the cheese layer.
- Top Layer: Roll out the second can of crescent roll dough and place it on top, pinching together any seams.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the squares are fully cooked.
- Prepare the Dipping Sauce: While the squares are baking, warm the beef broth in a small pot over medium heat.
- Cool and Cut: Once baked, allow the French Dip Squares to cool slightly before cutting them into squares.
- Serve: Serve the squares alongside the warmed beef broth for dipping.
