Introduction

Slow Cooker Baked Broccoli and Cheese Casserole is a comforting, creamy side dish that’s perfect for busy days,
potlucks, or holiday meals. Using a slow cooker makes this classic casserole easy and hands-off, while still
delivering rich cheese flavor and tender broccoli in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (or frozen, thawed and drained)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Colby-Jack cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of cheddar soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.
  2. Add broccoli florets evenly to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream soup, sour cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder,
    onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in half of the shredded cheeses until well blended.
  5. Pour the cheese mixture over the broccoli and gently mix to coat.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours,
until broccoli is tender and casserole is hot and bubbly.
  8. If using crackers or breadcrumbs, sprinkle them on top during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking.

Description

This casserole is creamy, cheesy, and loaded with tender broccoli, making it a family-friendly dish
that pairs well with almost any main course. The slow cooker ensures even cooking and prevents drying
out, resulting in a perfectly rich and satisfying texture.

Tips

  • Add ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • Stir in cooked rice or small pasta to make it a heartier dish.
  • Use sharp cheddar for a stronger cheese taste.
  • Avoid overcooking to prevent mushy broccoli.

Correction

If the casserole becomes too thick, stir in a few tablespoons of warm milk before serving.
If it seems watery, uncover the slow cooker for the last 20 minutes to allow excess moisture to evaporate.

Enjoy

Serve warm as a comforting side dish alongside chicken, beef, or holiday roasts.
This Slow Cooker Baked Broccoli and Cheese Casserole is sure to become a favorite at your table—simple,
cheesy, and delicious!
