Strawberry Bombs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 300g (2 cups) flour
  • 1 egg
  • 45g (1/4 cup) sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 140ml (3/5 cup) warm milk
  • 40g (1/4 cup) softened butter

For Decoration:

  • Whipped cream
  • Strawberries, chopped
  • Powdered sugar

Method:

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, yeast, and warm milk until the yeast is dissolved.
  2. Whisk in the egg. Add the flour and salt, and then use a spatula to start mixing the dough. Continue working it with your hands until you achieve a stretchable dough.
  3. Incorporate the softened butter into the dough by kneading until the butter is fully absorbed.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise for an hour.
  5. After rising, divide the dough into eight equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Cover and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly and then reshape them back into balls. Cover and let them sit for another 30 minutes.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat. Fry the dough balls for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Allow the fried balls to cool slightly, then cut each one in half horizontally, like a burger bun.
  9. Fill one half with whipped cream and chopped strawberries, then place the other half on top.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
