Strawberry Bombs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 300g (2 cups) flour
- 1 egg
- 45g (1/4 cup) sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 7g dry yeast
- 140ml (3/5 cup) warm milk
- 40g (1/4 cup) softened butter
For Decoration:
- Whipped cream
- Strawberries, chopped
- Powdered sugar
Method:
- In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, yeast, and warm milk until the yeast is dissolved.
- Whisk in the egg. Add the flour and salt, and then use a spatula to start mixing the dough. Continue working it with your hands until you achieve a stretchable dough.
- Incorporate the softened butter into the dough by kneading until the butter is fully absorbed.
- Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise for an hour.
- After rising, divide the dough into eight equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Cover and let them rest for 30 minutes.
- Flatten each ball slightly and then reshape them back into balls. Cover and let them sit for another 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat. Fry the dough balls for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Allow the fried balls to cool slightly, then cut each one in half horizontally, like a burger bun.
- Fill one half with whipped cream and chopped strawberries, then place the other half on top.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
