Cake

Granulated sugar 1 cup
Eggs 5 large
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
All-purpose flour 1½ cups
Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Salt ½ teaspoon

Strawberry Whipped Topping

Heavy cream 2 cups
Pureed strawberries ⅓ cup
Powdered sugar ⅔ cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Salt ½ teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Milk: In a blender or food processor, combine diced strawberries and granulated sugar. Pulse 2–3 times, then let sit for 10 minutes to release juices. Add evaporated milk, whole milk, and ¼ cup heavy cream. Blend for 1–2 minutes until smooth. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Bake the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to wet mixture until just combined. Pour batter into dish and bake 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Cool and Soak the Cake: Remove cake and pierce top with a fork all over. Let cool completely. Strain chilled strawberry milk through a fine sieve, then pour evenly over the cake. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Make Strawberry Whipped Topping: Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add pureed strawberries, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Continue whipping until firm peaks form.
  5. Assemble and Serve: Spread whipped topping evenly over cake. Garnish with fresh strawberries as desired. Serve chilled.
