The Ultimate Honey Garlic Pork Chops Recipe
The Ultimate Honey Garlic Pork Chops Recipe
I buy these in bulk from Costco and this is my go-to recipe! The sauce is the best part!
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless pork chops, about 3/4-inch thick
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Season the pork chops to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops and cook until they are golden brown on both sides and reach an internal temperature of 145°F, about 7-8 minutes per side. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing until it is fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar, and cook for 2 minutes, scraping any browned bits from the pan for added flavor.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, coat them in the sauce, and simmer for an additional minute, or until the sauce is thick and sticky.
- Garnish the pork chops with fresh parsley before serving.
Variations & Tips:
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a teaspoon of hot sauce to the honey garlic mixture.
- If you prefer bone-in pork chops, you’ll need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. These usually take a bit longer to cook through.
- To deepen the flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine to the skillet after sautéing the garlic, and let it reduce before adding the remaining sauce ingredients.
- Feel free to substitute the soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
- Remember to let the pork chops rest for a few minutes after cooking. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring each chop is moist and flavorful.
- For those who appreciate a touch of extra sweetness, a sprinkle of brown sugar added to the sauce can create a more caramelized finish.
