Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes Recipe

Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • Sliced provolone cheese
  • Hamburger buns or sliders

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef along with the onion, green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir the cornstarch into the beef mixture until evenly coated. Add the beef broth, A-1 Steak Sauce, and steak seasoning. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture will thicken and continue to thicken as it cools.
  4. While the meat simmers, preheat your oven to broil. Arrange the buns on a cookie sheet and butter each one. Broil for a few minutes until golden, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  5. Once the meat mixture is ready, use a slotted spoon to scoop it onto the bottom half of each bun. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top half of each bun and broil for a few more minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the cheese-topped bun on top of the meat-covered bun. Serve warm and enjoy!
