Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup beef broth
- ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Hamburger buns or sliders
Instructions:
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef along with the onion, green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Stir the cornstarch into the beef mixture until evenly coated. Add the beef broth, A-1 Steak Sauce, and steak seasoning. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture will thicken and continue to thicken as it cools.
- While the meat simmers, preheat your oven to broil. Arrange the buns on a cookie sheet and butter each one. Broil for a few minutes until golden, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Once the meat mixture is ready, use a slotted spoon to scoop it onto the bottom half of each bun. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top half of each bun and broil for a few more minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing the cheese-topped bun on top of the meat-covered bun. Serve warm and enjoy!
