Ingredients:
- 8 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar
Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Cover the funnel opening with one hand, and pour 1 cup of the batter into it.
- Begin in the center of the pan, creating a swirling motion to form a 6- to 7-inch round shape.
- Fry the batter on both sides until golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve warm.
