Homemade Spaghetti Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon freshly minced garlic
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 16 ounces spaghetti noodles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Air Pot: Set your Air Pot to the ‘Sauté’ function. Once heated, add olive oil and the finely chopped onion. Sauté the onions until they become slightly softened and fragrant.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Add the lean ground beef to the pot along with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and freshly minced garlic. Cook the mixture thoroughly, breaking up the meat until it is fully browned and cooked through.
  3. Deglaze the Pot: Once the meat is cooked, remove it from the pot. Pour 3 cups of water into the pot and use a spatula to scrape the bottom, ensuring no bits are left sticking, which helps prevent any burn warnings during cooking.
  4. Prepare the Spaghetti: Break the spaghetti noodles in half and layer them in a crisscross pattern within the pot. Pour the spaghetti sauce evenly over the noodles.
  5. Add Tomatoes and Water: If using diced tomatoes, add them on top of the sauce. Pour the remaining water around the edges and over the tomatoes to ensure the spaghetti is fully submerged. Lightly press down on the spaghetti to ensure it’s fully covered by the liquid.
  6. Pressure Cook: Secure the lid on the Air Pot, set the valve to ‘Sealing,’ and select the ‘Pressure Cook’ function. Set the timer for 5 minutes.
  7. Natural and Quick Release: Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to naturally release for 5 minutes. Afterward, perform a quick release until the pressure pin drops, signaling it is safe to open the lid.
  8. Combine and Serve: Open the lid and gently stir the spaghetti, incorporating the sauce, tomatoes, and cooked meat. Ensure everything is evenly mixed.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Plate your homemade spaghetti and serve with a side of dinner salad and garlic cheese toast for a complete and satisfying meal.
