Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream
Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream 😋
Ingredients:
- 500 grams of strawberries
- 100 grams of sugar
- 240 ml of cold or whipped cream
- 3 egg yolks
Preparation:
- Prepare the Strawberries: Begin by peeling the fresh strawberries and cutting them in half. Place the strawberries in a blender and blend until smooth, achieving a milkshake-like consistency.
- Prepare the Double Boiler: In a saucepan, heat a few glasses of water over medium heat until it begins to boil. Reduce the heat to a minimum once it reaches boiling point.
- Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar: In a heat-resistant glass bowl, combine the egg yolks and sugar. Place the bowl over the simmering water in the saucepan, creating a double boiler effect. Beat the yolk and sugar mixture with a hand mixer until it changes color from yellow to white, which should take about 5 minutes. Remove the bowl from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, pour the cold cream. Use a hand mixer to beat the cream for 3-4 minutes until stiff peaks form.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually fold the whipped cream into the egg yolk and sugar mixture using gentle, wrapping motions with a spatula until fully integrated.
- Add the Strawberry Puree: Gently fold the blended strawberries into the cream and yolk mixture, stirring until the blend is smooth and homogeneous.
- Freeze the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a plastic or glass container, spreading it evenly. Place the container in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the ice cream to set and become firm.
