Orange Loaf Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 40g candied orange slices, diced
- 166g eggs, at room temperature
- 106g unsalted butter
- 80g granulated sugar
- 30g chocolate chips
- 95g cake flour (low-protein flour, typically 7-9% protein content)
- 3.5g baking powder
- Fresh orange juice
Instructions:
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 329°F (165°C). Prepare a loaf pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it with butter to prevent the cake from sticking.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a clean mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to cream together the butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
- Incorporate Eggs: Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter-sugar mixture. Continue beating until well combined and the batter is smooth.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Sift together the cake flour and baking powder. Slowly add this mixture to the batter, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in Add-ins: Gently fold in the diced candied orange slices and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
