Introduction
I believe this is the best version of this recipe I’ve ever perfected. It’s simply fantastic and sure to be a hit at any gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh or canned peaches
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped peaches and white chocolate chips (if using).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Variations & Tips
- For added crunch, mix in 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the dough.
- Substitute the peaches with other fruits like apples or berries to cater to different tastes.
