Auntie’s Classic Biscuit Recipe

I never imagined I’d stumble upon my aunt’s old recipe, but I did, and it’s even better than I remembered!

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury Grands Classic Southern Style Biscuits
  • 8 cubes of mozzarella cheese (1-inch each)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Cut each biscuit into eight pieces.
  3. Flatten each biscuit slightly with your fingertips. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center of each biscuit piece.
  4. Seal the biscuit around the cheese by pinching the edges together, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
  5. Arrange the dough balls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  7. Brush the garlic butter mixture over each biscuit and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

Variations and Tips:

  • For a spicier twist, consider using pepper jack or cheddar cheese.
  • Add a meaty element by incorporating pepperoni or cooked bacon.
  • For a sweeter variation, substitute cinnamon sugar butter for the garlic butter and use a chocolate square or marshmallow instead of cheese. Note that this may require slight adjustments to the baking time.
