Chocolate Cotton Cake
Ingredients:
- 80ml milk
- 60ml vegetable oil
- 70g flour
- 10g cocoa powder
- 4 egg whites
- 4 egg yolks
- 70g sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- Chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Mix the Base Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, flour, and egg yolks until smooth. Divide the mixture into two equal portions. Add cocoa powder to one portion and mix well to create the chocolate mixture.
- Prepare the Egg Whites: In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with salt and lemon juice until foamy. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Combine the Mixtures: Gently fold half of the beaten egg whites into the plain mixture and the other half into the chocolate mixture.
- Layer the Mixtures: Pour the chocolate mixture into a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Carefully pour the plain mixture on top of the chocolate layer. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the surface.
- Bake the Cake: Place the baking pan in a larger baking dish filled with hot water. Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 1 hour, or until the cake is set and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
